What’s a Munzee?
The website for Munzee.com bills itself as a 21st Century Scavenger Hunt, Taking Geocaching To The Next Level.
Players who have signed up for a free account at the website can then download a free app to their iPhone or Android which reads the game pieces, such as the one seen on the left. These game pieces are hidden by other players, much as a geocache is hidden. Scanning the game piece with the player’s smart phone automatically logs the find to the player’s account — there’s no logbook to sign!
If this sounds like fun, get your phone ready to play by checking out the website and installing the app. There will be lots of new Munzee tags placed just in time for the event, as well as a “Munzee circuit” scattered around in a walking tour of the area near the GeoMonster Ball’s evening venue, and some additional Munzees hidden indoors at the MonsterBall.
